Ningbo Fangli Technology Co., Ltd. is a mechanical equipment manufacturer with over 30 years’ experiences of plastic pipe extrusion equipment, new environmental protection and new materials equipment. Since its establishment Fangli has been developed based on user’s demands. Through continuous improvement, independent R&D on the core technology and digestion & absorption of advanced technology and other means, we have developed PVC pipe extrusion line, PP-R pipe extrusion line, PE water supply / gas pipe extrusion line, which was recommended by the Chinese Ministry of Construction to replace imported products. We have gained the title of “First-class Brand in Zhejiang Province”.
A PE pipe extrusion production line is the core equipment in the field of plastic pipe manufacturing, primarily used to produce polyethylene (PE) pipes required for municipal, industrial, agricultural, and construction applications. Through processes such as high-temperature melting and extrusion molding, it converts PE raw materials into continuous pipes. It features a high degree of automation and stable production efficiency, making it an indispensable piece of equipment in modern pipeline engineering.
I. Technical Principles and Core Components
The working principle of a PE pipe extrusion production line is based on the extrusion molding technology for thermoplastic plastics. The equipment mainly consists of an extruder, a die head, a vacuum calibration tank, a haul-off unit, a cutting device, and a control system. The extruder heats the PE raw material to a molten state through the rotation of the screw and applies pressure to shape it into a tubular form through the die head; the vacuum calibration tank uses negative pressure to cool and calibrate the pipe, maintaining dimensional accuracy; the haul-off unit provides a stable pulling force to ensure continuous pipe production; and the cutting device automatically cuts the pipe to preset lengths. The entire process achieves precise regulation of parameters such as temperature, speed, and pressure through a PLC control system.
II. Performance Advantages and Material Selection
The core advantages of this production line lie in its stability and durability. Its screw design adopts a two-stage structure, which optimizes plasticizing efficiency and material mixing uniformity while reducing energy consumption and raw material waste; the heating system employs zoned temperature control technology, allowing the temperature profile to be adjusted according to different pipe diameters and preventing pipe deformation caused by localized overheating. In terms of materials, key components such as the screw and barrel are made of high-wear-resistant alloy steel, with surfaces subjected to nitriding treatment, achieving a hardness of over HV850, which significantly extends the service life of the equipment. In addition, the production line supports a modular design and can be flexibly configured with either a single-screw or twin-screw extruder according to user requirements, adapting to the production needs of different specifications of PE pipes.
III. Application Scenarios and Operating Specifications
PE pipe extrusion production lines are widely used in fields such as municipal water supply, gas transmission, farmland irrigation, and building drainage. During operation, process parameters must be strictly followed: raw materials must be kept dry (moisture content ≤ 0.2%) to prevent moisture from vaporizing at high temperatures and causing bubbles on the inner wall of the pipe; extrusion temperature must be adjusted according to the PE grade (typically 180–220°C) to ensure sufficient plasticization of the material; and the haul-off speed must match the extrusion speed to prevent pipe stretching or accumulation. Before starting the equipment, the cooling water circulation system must be checked to ensure that the vacuum calibration tank and the die head cooling channels are unobstructed, avoiding pipe deformation caused by insufficient heat dissipation. Routine maintenance requires regularly cleaning residual material from the screw, checking the insulation performance of the heating coils, and lubricating transmission components to reduce wear.
IV. Technological Iteration and Industry Adaptability
As pipeline engineering imposes higher requirements on pipe performance, PE pipe extrusion production lines continue to be optimized technologically. For example, servo motor-driven haul-off units are used to achieve precise closed-loop speed control, allowing pipe wall thickness deviation to be controlled within ±5%; Internet of Things (IoT) technology is introduced to monitor equipment operating status in real time through sensors and provide early warning of potential faults. In addition, in response to the demand for lightweight pipes in the agricultural irrigation sector, the production line can adjust the die structure to produce PE pipes with smooth inner walls and ribbed outer walls, reducing material costs while ensuring strength. These improvements enable the production line to adapt to production requirements for pipe diameters ranging from DN20 to DN1200, covering multiple application scenarios such as municipal, industrial, and agricultural applications.
